A New Chapter for Quark Energy, OK Express and Quest Petroleum.

Welcome to Quark Energy, located at the vibrant corner of Victoria Road and Peter Kerchhoff Street, Pietermaritzburg. This station marks a significant milestone for our brand, as it becomes the eighth Quest Fuel Station in KwaZulu-Natal and the first in Pietermaritzburg. It is the realization of a vision from the Hall Brothers, Martin and Andrew, born and raised in PMB, who dreamed of creating a space that not only fuels vehicles but also enriches the lives of the community.

Our mission extends beyond providing fuel – we are here to fuel the body and soul of Pietermaritzburg’s residents and visitors alike. “We are a family business passionate about revitalizing Victoria Road, Roberts Road, and Wembley,” explains Hall. “Through our partnerships and programs like the Keep Pietermaritzburg Clean Action Group, we’re committed to making a lasting, positive impact on the area.”

Driven by a dedication to the community, Quark Energy was designed to offer more than just a refueling stop. We’ve upgraded the site to include affordable, on-the-go meal options, and essential health services. Our on-site OK Express store offers a wide range of products, and our deli, led by a professional chef, serves fresh and delicious meals daily. A premium coffee station, run by skilled baristas, ensures that customers can enjoy the perfect cup of coffee – with a rewards card that links to fuel purchases for added convenience.

For those who need medical care, we’ve taken convenience a step further. The Quark Energy site features a late-night pharmacy, open from 6am to 10pm, in sync with our fueling station hours. With doctor consultation rooms on-site, community members can receive medical treatment and prescriptions all in one place.

We’re proud to be powered by Petrefuel, one of South Africa’s leading independent suppliers of fuel and lubricants. Petrefuel plays a vital role in supporting some of the country’s most essential industries, including agriculture, mining, marine, and transport. As Operations Manager Carl Folscher puts it, “Our presence ensures that these industries have access to high-quality, reliable fuel, keeping the country moving forward.”
